STD Screening Test Panel — Expanded
Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), also known as sexually transmitted infections (STIs), are common and often cause few or no symptoms. Whether you're beginning a new relationship, have had unprotected sexual contact, are experiencing symptoms, or simply want routine screening, this expanded panel delivers accurate, confidential results you and your healthcare provider can trust.
With ICare's concierge mobile laboratory services, confidential STD testing is delivered directly to your home, office, or preferred location, providing exceptional privacy, convenience, and personalized care.
What Does This Test Measure?
The Expanded STD Screening Panel combines advanced blood, urine, and/or swab testing to evaluate for several common sexually transmitted infections.
Depending on the panel ordered, testing may include:
Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
Screens for HIV-1 and HIV-2 infection using a fourth-generation test that detects both HIV antibodies and the p24 antigen for earlier detection.
Syphilis
Screens for syphilis with automatic confirmatory testing when appropriate to improve diagnostic accuracy.
Hepatitis B
May include testing for Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (HBsAg) to identify active infection and, in some cases, additional markers to assess immunity or previous exposure.
Hepatitis C
Screens for Hepatitis C antibodies, with reflex confirmatory testing if indicated.
Chlamydia
Detects Chlamydia trachomatis using nucleic acid amplification testing (NAAT), the preferred method for diagnosing active infection.
Gonorrhea
Detects Neisseria gonorrhoeae using highly sensitive NAAT technology.
Trichomoniasis
Detects Trichomonas vaginalis using advanced molecular testing to identify active infection.
Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV-1 & HSV-2)
May include blood testing for HSV-1 and HSV-2 antibodies to evaluate prior exposure. When active sores are present, your healthcare provider may recommend lesion-specific testing for the most accurate diagnosis.
Mycoplasma genitalium (When Included)
Some expanded panels include testing for Mycoplasma genitalium, an emerging sexually transmitted bacterial infection associated with urethritis, cervicitis, and pelvic inflammatory disease.
